The vehicle-mounted Micromax 3-Speed is a spinning disc rotary atomiser designed for the Controlled Droplet Application (CDA) of all agrochemicals. The Micromax 3-Speed offers huge savings compared with hydraulic nozzles. By efficiently producing only the spray droplet sizes appropriate for the particular application the Micromax: 3-speed cuts spray volumes and costs and minimises any risk of environmental contamination. Low volumes mean rapid spraying can be undertaken when required for optimal chemical performance thus allowing use of low chemical dosages, and for the economical use of adjuvants.
The use of low volumes also means lightweight spray vehicles can be used to minimise soil compaction and ensure spraying can be undertaken at the optimal time.
The low application volumes using the Micromax 3-Speed mean greater areas can be sprayed per tank load (or lighter vehicles used), with dramatic savings in the cost, time and effort of the spraying operation. This both speeds up the spraying process and allows more spraying days. The Micromax 3-Speed thus allows quick and cost-effective pesticide application to be undertaken when needed.
The electrically driven Micromax 3-Speed can generally be powered just using the vehicle battery.
The unique disc design of the electrically driven Micromax 3-Speed ensures controlled spray atomisation over a wide range of liquid feed rates. The Micromax 3-Speed gives a choice of three disc rotational speeds, and thus spray droplet sizes, to fit different applications:
Slow: 1 to 300 micron spray droplets for pre-emergent herbicides and postemergent herbicide applications where drift-avoidance is essential. These larger spray droplets fall directly onto the soil or weeds under the force of gravity. Total application volumes are generally 30 to 60 litres/hectare.
Medium: 100 to 200 micron spray droplets for most post-emergent herbicides, defoliants, foliar feeds and some fungicides. These spray droplets fall mainly under the force of gravity (thus minimising any risk of uncontrolled drift), but allow some lateral movement into the crop to ensure good coverage on all plant surfaces. Total application volumes are generally 10 to 30 litres/hectare.
Fast: 75 to 100 micron spray droplets for insecticides and most fungicides. These spray droplets are transported laterally into the crop to ensure good coverage of vertical as well as horizontal plant surfaces. Total application volumes are generally 10 to 20 litres/hectare. These ultra-low volumes allow the economical use of non-volatile liquids (e.g. oils) as additives or carriers to reduce spray droplet evaporation, which, combined with the control of spray droplet size, minimises any risk of uncontrolled spray drift. The Micromax: 3-speed can be used with both water and oil based sprays.
The low application volumes using the Micromax 3-Speed mean greater areas can be sprayed per tank load (or lighter vehicles used), with dramatic savings in the cost, time and effort of the spraying operation. This both speeds up the spraying process and allows more spraying days. The Micromax 3-Speed thus allows quick and cost effective pesticide application to be undertaken when needed.
